Pretty Flowers

We've had a really busy weekend. I'm hoping that I will have the time and energy to blog about it tomorrow; for now, here are some quick pics of a few of our hydrangeas. Hydrangeas are my favorite, and this one in particular is really looking lovely this year. I love the white with the hint of purple.

The Ever-Changing House

It seems like our house is always in a constant state of transition. There's still much that we want to do, but it's coming along.

Real estate listing photo.
The day they handed us the keys (notice Cricket is already investigating the inside).
After we took up all the random and half-dead bushes, painted some of the stone, added a new roof, windows, front door, and shutters.
We have landscaping!
Siding coming off...
....and the new siding is finished!

They put our mailbox back up in a really weird place and our house numbers are crooked as can be, but the siding itself looks great! I have a plan brewing in the back of my mind to fix the house numbers. All I can say about the mailbox is at least I can see inside of it now without standing on my tip toes!

Splash

Ava invited us to come over and swim today so we spent most of the afternoon at her house. It took Sullivan a few minutes but he warmed up quickly and LOVED it!

We finished off the day playing in Ava's yard with a few of the neighborhood kids, Brayden & Molly (who I didn't get a picture of today).

There are so many little ones on Ava's street! Every single house has a child under age 2; it's crazy! I wish we could move there so Sullivan could be closer to his friends. Maybe someday. It was such a hot day but we had a lot of fun!

Siding & Spaghetti

Back in late January we had some damage to our house during a tornado warning. About half of the siding went missing off the south side of our house along with the electrical box.

This was taken with my phone so it isn't the best, but the electrical box is hanging off on the right and you can see the old wood siding at the top.
The electricity was fixed almost immediately, but the insurance company didn't make a decision on the siding repair work until recently. The crew showed up bright and early today though and when I came home from dropping Sullivan off at daycare and getting my hair cut they had removed most of the old siding.

The green is the foam they nail the new siding to. You can also see the wood where the old garage was located which I think is neat.
I got alot of cleaning done today while Sullivan was at daycare so I decided to invite some of our friends over for dinner. I wanted to make spaghetti and it makes SO much so it all worked out perfectly.

Sullivan loves spaghetti but he was more interested in playing with it than eating it tonight. Having Ava over might have had something to do with that. They're BFF and I can't even begin to imagine how much they're going to get into once Sullivan is mobile!

Manic Monday

Mondays are usually pretty quiet around here. It's not usually a day we have anything scheduled, but yesterday we had an appointment with Sullivan's physical therapist out of Jackson. We see her about once a month and sometimes those meetings are stressful. Sullivan is still several months delayed in gross motor movement and sometimes I feel like we go over the same suggestions and steps over and over. Sullivan has proven time and again though that he's going to do things on his own schedule. He's made alot of leaps in development this month despite a rapid increase in seizure activity about 2 weeks ago. He's now getting up on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth, making forward reaching and backward crawling movements in that position, transitioning in and out of sitting, and pulling up to a kneeling position. Since he had improved so much I wasn't as worried about this appointment, and it went very well especially considering he refused to take a nap that morning (which is rare).

Our air conditioning went out a few days ago and the house was HOT. If you know me you know I don't like being hot at all. So we spent the rest of the afternoon camped out at my parents house while the unit was getting fixed. He got into a little mischief while he was there...

After going to dinner with some friends we went over and visited with Matthew's family for awhile and watched dancing with the stars. Sullivan loved playing with their dog Pepper and had a big time watching Lily dance around like a nut. It was a pretty busy Monday but it ended about the same way as it always does with one of Sullivan's favorite things.. bath time. I'm not sure which he likes better though... the koala-style ride on my head TO the bath or the actual bath.
